design cities

From Paris in the 1930s to Tokyo in the ’80s to London in the noughties, this exhibition explores the influence of designers, and good design, in seven different cities experiencing a creative zeitgeist. Starting with London in the 1850s, there are some interesting exhibits, including fashion, furniture and architecture.

However, some broader context of how these designs helped changed the homes, offices and public spaces where we live, work and socialise would have been welcome. DANIEL LANDON

» Design Museum, Shad Thames, SE1 (020-7403 6933). Until January 4. £8.50
