The wholesome vibe of the place runs right through the establishment from the friendly attentive staff, to the locally sourced food, much of which comes from their very own farm. Set in a small village deep in the south of the French Ardennes (rolling fields rather than forest-covered hills), the quaint interiors are matched by the tranquil beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Wow factor: The picturesque village is a retreat in itself, but it’s the stunning beauty of the Ardennes region that impresses most.
