Overview Good luck finding a more welcoming hotel experience than Serinn House, a five-room cave hotel in Ürgüp, in the heart of Cappadocia in Turkey’s Central Anatolia.

Serinn is a haven from the heat and a home away from home, with hands-on owner-operator Eren a whiz at making her guests’ stay a beauty, from occasional home-cooking to restaurant and tour recommendations. Ürgüp is larger yet less touristy than the popular Göreme, so there’s plenty going on within easy walking distance.

Wow factor Pure hospitality. The breathtaking view with a tasty traditional spread at brekkie, personal service and proximity to one of the world’s most amazing places.

Rooms All rooms are uniquely refurbished caves, and cool (which is what Serinn means) in the heat. The fittings are bare bones (you don’t need a TV with the view on the verandah) but super stylish, with plush beds, fine cotton linens, deluxe bathrooms and free wi-fi access.

Bills please Rooms cost from £100 for a double room with breakfast included.
