Want to help change the world? We have good news - your starting point is the gorgeous island of St Vincent in the Caribbean.
Organisers of the Climate Compliance Conference tell how you can be part of this vital project...
The sun, the moon and the stars would have disappeared long ago… had they happened to be within the reach of predatory human hands. ~Havelock Ellis, The Dance of Life, 1923
Home is where the heart is. Earth is home and what a beautiful home it is. The earth has been a faithful provider for years, but we have exhausted her resources. It is a frightening concept, that we’re in fact killing our home. However there is something we can do.
We need to change, which means living responsibly as well as sustainably. That is not the easiest thing to do in this day and age - but nothing worth doing usually is.
At Richmond Vale Academy in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines we’ve got a plan in place, namely to work with the amazing people on this beautiful little island to make this change. The plan is to make Saint Vincent and the Grenadines the first nation in the World Climate Compliant.
Each team - made out of volunteers coming from all over the world as well as from Saint Vincent - has 1-6 months, which is both a lot as well as a limited time; so getting the most out of it is of utter importance.
It is not an easy task. Each team goes through hardship and enjoyable moments, which will create everlasting memories. The simple thought of making a difference can ignite the start of something great. It is time we put that thought into motion.
Never before has so much scientific data, books and other publications been available, and never before has there been such a broadly based consensus among all but ardent deniers that global warming and climate change is real, and that also actions by man are causing the Earth system to collapse, causing irreversible damage to the Earth and life as we know it.
The Climate Compliance Conference has been born, as a way for we, the ordinary people, to take concrete actions and at the same time establish knowledge in a new kind of environmental movement, which will be shown globally for others to follow.
