Cruising the coast
Yes, Poland has a beach. It also has a 778kms of coastline complete with sandy golden beaches and rugged cliffs. The coast is dotted with historical towns and cute fishing hamlets to delight any happy-snapping tourist.
Lapping up lakes
The Masurian Lake District in northern Poland is often referred to as "a land of a thousand lakes", but the actual number of lakes is about 4000.
The tranquil region is a haven for yachting enthusiasts, canoeists, hikers and walkers.
Mikołajki
Dubbed “the Pearl of Masuria", Mikołajki is a strip of land between the Mikołajskie and Tałty lakes, complete with a marina and several cute bridges. In high season, the small town turns into a lively tourist hub.
Mountain voyage
The Tatra Mountains are the biggest in Poland and are also home to Poland’s largest ski resort town, Zakopane. The Białowieża near Poland’s border with Belarus where European bison may be found.
Malbork castle
This imposing castle is the largest surviving medieval castle in Europe. Also check out Pieskowa Skala, Baranow Sandomierski, Niedzica, Ksiaz and Goluchow.
Unesco
There are eight Unesco sights in Poland including Krakow, Torun, Warsaw and Zamosc, Auschwitz concentration camp, Wieliczka salt mine, Malbork Castle and Bialowieza National Park.
Krakow
The most popular Polish city, "cultural capital" Krakow has been for years considered by Poles to be the most beautiful city in their country and attracts millions of tourists from around the world annually.
It’s also a jumping-off point for visiting Auschwitz, where you can tour the remains and museum of the largest Nazi concentration camp in Europe.
Gdansk
In it’s historical centre, countless ancient monuments, the largest European medieval market-place with plenty of magical pubs and cafes.
For a sea side town – Gdansk is the first choice. Gdansk’s Old Town has is full of hotels, restaurants, cafes, clubs, bars and amber shops among the picturesque Burgher houses.
Wrocław has a perfect mixture of Gothic and baroque architecture. If you’re into cities with bridges, you’re on to a winner here, as Wrocław has hundreds of them.
