Cappadocia

Like nothing you’ve ever seen before, Cappadocia’s lunar-esque landscape is dotted with surreal fairy chimneys sprouting from the Earth. It’s all down to volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago, which covered the region in soft ash. As this eroded, it left various unusual structures, such as the giant phallus shapes found in Zemi (Love) Valley. It’s not just mother nature who’s set to work altering the landscape, either, with ancient churches and modern pensions being chiselled out in the soft surrounding hills.
