It would be a narrow-minded traveller who couldn't find something to love in Turkey. The country's proximity to Europe makes it perhaps the easiest Middle Eastern country to explore, offering a glimpse of exoticism without breaching your comfort zone. The people, too, are overwhelmingly friendly and, Istanbul aside, take life at a refreshingly pedestrian pace.
