Sadly, Colombia is known more for violence, kidnappings and cocaine than its friendly locals, vibrant cities, and amazing scenery. Fortunately, things are improving and the country is steadily shaking off its terrible image thanks to a greatly improved security situation. For the traveller, this means there are some fabulous adventures to be had along the undeveloped Pacific Coast or in the rugged interior, or you can check out thriving cities and the fascinating, idyllic Caribbean coast.
