African Adventurer 30 Days

An African adventure of big highlights - game drives on the Serengeti and in the Ngorongoro Crater, visiting the magical spice island of Zanzibar Island, visits a Masai village, and in fishing villages through rural Malawi, finishing at Victoria Falls with a ton of adventure sports and exciting wildlife activities - lion walks, rhino treks or get drilled on grade 5 rapids white water rafting, bungee and gorge swing 

African Adventurer 30 Days

Day 1 

KENYA - TANZANIA

Depart Nairobi, across the Athi plains driving through to our camp in Arusha. Departure meeting.

Days 2 - 4
TANZANIA

Three days allocated for a choice of game drives, with an evening celebratory barbecue on our return from the game parks.

Optionals including choices of game drives: Afternoon and morning game drives in the Serengeti National Park, afternoon drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation area with Maasai village visit, morning game drives in Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge Museum (depending on road conditions).

Days 5 - 6
TANZANIA

Two days drive to Dar es Salaam on the coast, with the chance of views of Kilimanjaro en route, seafood barbecue at our camp on the Indian Ocean, preparations for the stay on Zanzibar Island.

Days 7- 11
TANZANIA

Free time for a 4 night stay on Zanzibar Island....

Optional four night island stay: Four nights on exotic Zanzibar Island with five free days allocated for this tropical island beach stay, returning to Dar es Salaam on day 11 .....

Talk with us as to the special arrangements we can make for your accommodation staying in beach cottages and the traditional capital, ancient Stone Town and other requirements on the Island including transfers and spice tours.

Other options to budget for include snorkelling and scuba diving on Zanzibar's untouched coral reefs, a visit to Prison Island famous for its giant tortoise population and to Jozani Forest to see the red colobus monkeys.

All accommodation and transfers with a spice tours on Zanzibar Island can be arranged ahead of time.

Days 12 - 13
TANZANIA - MALAWI

Drive through Mikumi National Park, Lake Malawi.

Days 14 - 16
MALAWI

Stay by beach camps, village visits including a traditional meal and dancing, curio markets.

Optionals: Livingstonia hike, water sports, horse riding in and by the Lake, school visit, a village meal and dancing.

Days 17 - 19
MALAWI - ZAMBIA - ZIMBABWE

Lilongwe. Cross the Luangwa River en route to Lusaka.

Optional: Lilongwe Wildlife Centre.

Days 20- 22
ZIMBABWE

Into the Zambezi Valley to relax by Lake Kariba.

Optional: A houseboat cruise on the Lake including guided game walks, a game cruise and fishing.

Days 23 - 25
ZIMBABWE

Antelope Park, a private game reserve.

Optionals: Lion walks, playing with cubs, horse rides, carriage rides, elephant rides.

Day 26
ZIMBABWE

Into Bulawayo, the capital of the Mashonaland Province, to visit Matopos National Park for a rhino trek and game drives.

Optional: Extra game drives in Matopos National Park.

Days 27 - 30
ZIMBABWE

Action packed days in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe's adventure capital

Optionals: Bungee jump, gorge swing and rap jump, flying fox, white water rafting, canoe trips, sundowner cruises, 'Flight of the Angels' scenic flight, elephant rides, horse ride and interactive drumming.

Further itinerary notes:

Please note we usually finish this safari in Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side of the Zambezi. Alternatively occasionally we might finish across the river on the Livingstone side of the Zambezi, in Zambia. For the end of this tour flights can be arranged out of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, or from Livingstone, on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. There are international airports both in Victoria Falls and in Livingstone. Remember extra visa and transfer costs apply if you need to cross the river to fly out. Transfers can be arranged to either airport from the campsite where we finish.
