Kigali to Cape Town - Commencing with the opportunity to trek to see the mountain gorillas and with every possible chance to see the big five and more in game park after game park from the Masai Mara to the Serengeti to Etosha. Along the way, experience the cultures and stunning geography of East and Southern Africa, The Great Rift Valley, the vast savannah plains, Zanzibar's idyllic white beaches, Lake Malawi, Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta and the dunes of Namibia. With the opportunity for an adrenalin rush or two - sky dive, gorge swing and white water rafting on the Zambezi's grade 5 rapids!

Days 1 - 3  


Meet up in Kigali, Rwanda's capital city, Genocide Memorial and Museum. Optional mountain gorilla trek in either Parc National des Volcans (Rwanda) or Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda).

Optionals: Gorilla Trek, trek to golden monkeys, visit to Dian Fossey's grave, orphanage and preschool visit, Batwa (Pygmy) village visit.

Days 4 - 9

Lake Bunyoni, Masaka or Mpanga Forest, Jinja, free day by the White Nile.

Optionals: Canoeing, whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, voluntary work in a local school, quad biking, horse riding, sunset cruise on Lake Victoria.

Days 10-17

Lake Nakuru National Park game drives, Masai Mara game drives, Nairobi

Optionals: Cycling safari in Hells Gate National Park, guided walk to Green Crater Lake, Elsamere for afternoon tea, balloon safari, Maasai village visit.

Days 18 - 23

Athi plains, Arusha: three days free time for a choice of optional game drives in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, group barbecue on day 21 to celebrate the end of the Tanzania game drives. Two days drive to Dar es Salaam on the coast, with the chance of views of Kilimanjaro en route, seafood barbecue at our camp on the Indian Ocean, preparations for the stay on Zanzibar Island.

Optionals: Two nights/three days in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater including morning and afternoon game drives, Overnight safari in Ngorongoro Crater with morning game drives, Maasai village visit, Olduvai Gorge Museum.

Days 24 - 28

4 nights allotted for a stay on Zanzibar Island....

Optionals: Free time for the option to visit Zanzibar Island from day 24, returning to Dar es Salaam on day 28:

Talk with us as to the special arrangements we can make for your stay on Zanzibar. We reserve accommodation in popular beach cottages and in a lodge within the ancient capital, Stone Town as well as your other requirements including ferry bookings, transfers and spice tours.

Other options to budget for include snorkelling and scuba diving on Zanzibar's sweeping coral reefs, to Prison Island famous for its giant tortoise population and to Jozani Forest to see the red colobus monkeys.

All accommodation and transfers including a spice tour on Zanzibar Island can be arranged ahead of time.

Days 29 - 33

Drive through Mikumi National Park, Lake Malawi beach resort, visit traditional fishing villages, beach hop to second Malawi beach resort, visit traditional fishing villages with a traditional meal and dancing, curio markets.

Optionals: Water activities, village visit, horse riding on the Lake, Livingstonia hike, school visit, Lilongwe.

Days 34 - 35

Cross the Luangwa River en route to Lusaka.

Days 36 - 47

Lake Kariba, Antelope Park (a private game reserve), Bulawayo, the capital of Mashonaland Province, Matopos National Park, game drives, rhino trek, Victoria Falls - action packed days in Zimbabwe's adventure capital.

Optionals: Houseboat cruise, Lion walks, horse rides, elephant rides, night encounters, wagon game rides, Extra afternoon game drives, White water rafting, bungee jump, gorge swing and abseil, Flight of the Angels, sunset cruise, interactive drumming, canoe excursions, horse rides and many other activities at the Falls.

Days 48 - 52

Kasane, Maun

Optionals: Chobe National Park game cruise, and/or guided game drives, Overnight and two night/three day mokoro safaris in the Okavango Delta, game drives in Moremi, scenic flights over the Delta.

Days 53 - 65

Caprivi Strip, morning and afternoon game drives with entry and two nights camping inside Etosha National Park, visit to a cheetah sanctuary, Spitzkoppe rock formations or similar, Cape Cross Seal Colony, three night lodge stay or similar in Swakopmund, Sossusvlei, Namib Naukluft National Park, Fish River Canyon, Orange River.

Optionals: Hoba meteorite, evening game drives. Himba village visit, rock engravings, open sea fishing, township tour, dune buggies, quad biking, sand boarding, go-karting, tandem sky diving, dolphin boat trip, desert scenic flights, guided walk on the dunes, rafting on the Orange River.

Day 65 - 69

Stellenbosch, Cape Town.

Optionals: Wine tour.
