English Tourism Week (25 March - 2 April) celebrates the very best of holidays close to home. Here, Martin Smith of Campsites.co.uk, chooses eight of England's most instagrammable glamping sites

Blackberry Wood, Ditchling, East Sussex

Set in the South Downs National Park, Blackberry Wood’s unique accommodation includes a double-decker bus, converted helicopter and a hand crafted tree house (pictured). The sky-high structure has its own turret and terrace, and there’s even space for a loft bed, shower room and kitchen.

Camp Katur, Ripon, North Yorkshire

Camp Katur in North Yorkshire has Hobbit pods, a Rickety Shack and a Woodland Hide Dome (pictured) with 360 degree views of the stunning setting. The site offers a huge range of activities including quad bike trekking, segway tours and a treetop adventure course with a climbing wall, rope bridge and sky-high zip wire that flies you back down to the ground.

Happy Days Retro Vacations, Saxmundham, Suffolk

For the ultimate in cool kitsch swagger head to Happy Days Retro Vacations where there’s a lineup of classic tin-can caravans to catch your eye. All have been updated to make them cosy and welcoming, but many of the original features remain. Another quirky touch is the abandoned old-style army truck that takes pride of place in the kids play area.

Tom’s Eco Lodge, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight

For the best sunsets on the Isle of Wight, stay in the sea view safari tents at Tom’s Eco Lodge on Tapnell Farm near Yarmouth. These giant tents can sleep up to eight and are perfect for family time. Each has a barbecue and pizza oven for al fresco food, and a campfire provides the perfect spot for songs and stories as the sun goes down. As this is glamping, the beds are comfy, there's hot running water and a shower, and guests can collect their own fresh eggs for breakfast.

Campden Yurts, Chipping Campen, Cotswolds

For a complete getaway head to Campden Yurts, which opens in spring 2017. The site features two luxurious yurts on a small holding in the Cotswolds. The 18 ft yurts sleep five, with a king or double size bed, duvets, futons, cushions and throws. Each has a wood burner and there's a kotlich pan and cob pizza oven for outside dining.

Crow Camp Tipis, Delamere Forest

The beautiful tipis at Crow Camp on the Cheshire Plain sleep six and include BBQs and a firepit. The site is just six miles from Chester but feels like another world – it’s set on a vast landscape abundant with wildlife, including a herd of reindeer that share the site.

Yurtcamp, Liverton, Devon

Yurtcamp is set in 40 acres of woodland that is home to birds of prey and deer. There are 22 yurts hidden among the trees, and they are fully insulated and have their own log burners, campfire pits and real beds. Every yurt has a viewing dome for star spotting and the site has a full size woodland assault course for children and adults.  Nearby Dartmoor offers winter activities such as pony trekking and rock scrambling.
