Still having panic attacks at the thought of wearing your new bikini? Feeling stressed out because of work? We reckon you need a detox for body and mind, stat - and here are the five best places in the UK to do it...
Whether you're after something indoor or outdoor, strenuous or relaxing, there's something for everyone who's planning on sorting out their physical and mental imbalances in time for the summer. We work hard, people - it's not surprising that we need an MOT every now and then.
You could always visit one of the UK’s national parks, such as Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. Cairngorm boasts one of the most impressive glacial landscapes outside of Canada, with granite tors and deposits from the Ice Ages. Alternatively, check out the North York Moors to enjoy contrasting heather moorlands, woodlands, and coastal cliffs. Just don't ruin all your good work with a fish and chip dinner.
Connect with your spiritual side and visit a yoga retreat for some stretching and meditation. There are many yoga retreats in the UK, such as The Forge Yoga Centre in Totnes, Devon or Buddhist centres, such as Yoga Jeanie in East Sussex, or Dhanakosa in the Scottish Highlands.
If you're after a break that'll soothe your frazzled nerves, get yourself down to Rye in East Sussex, one of the most complete medieval villages in the UK. Explore antique shops selling everything from glassware, frames and busts to desks and clothing. If you fancy a cycling tour around the Romney Marshes, this is an excellent rest-point. Enjoy some cake and tea in one of the cafes, or indulge in a seafood treat along the harbour. It sounds so wholesome; you may as well change your surname to 'Walton' after this break.
