Nada al-Ahdal says in the video that she was to be married off against her wishes.
“I told them that I am 11-years old and that she [her mother] wants to marry me off,” Nada says in the video which was released by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) on July 21.
“I have decided that I have two choices – to leave or to die. So I chose the first.”
Nada explains how she ran off to live with her uncle for fear for her life which had been threatened.
