In celebration of the 20th annual event, the organisers are looking for a broad spectrum of entrants to take part in what is shaping up to be a landmark year for Europe’s most prestigious dragon boat event.
Organised by London Chinatown Lions Club with support from The Hong Kong Executives Club, The London Chinatown Chinese Community Centre and the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, the free festival is a great opportunity to experience Chinese culture.
Alongside the dragon boat racing which, this year will see 40 clubs, corporate and amateur teams battling it out for four cups and top honours, there’s a food festival, martial arts displays and traditional Chinese lion dancing to look forward to, as well as raffle draw. Tickets for the latter can be reserved in advance at www.dragonboatfestival.co.uk. Prizes include a pair of return flights to Hong Kong courtesy of Cathay Pacific and dinner for two at Hutong at The Shard.
