The 41-year-old banker, who earns £400,000 a year, wanted to spice up their love life after buying the book. However, her husband wasn’t up for it, so the woman filed for divorce.

Lawyer Amanda McAlister said the couple’s sex life had deteriorated: “She told him he had a boring attitude to sex and she was fed up.” The husband’s “lack of adventure” and “unreasonable behaviour” counts as one of the five grounds for divorce.

Her husband agreed with this assessment and didn’t contest the divorce – possibly to avoid having his libido or sexual tastes dissected and mulled over in the family division of the UK’s High Court.
