The 79-year-old actor, a cast member of Coronation Street since 1960, said: “I didn’t have any control over my sex drive.”
The oversharing didn’t stop there, with Roache then revealing that many of his lovers have called him by his character’s name, Ken, in the sack.
Roache has been married four times, but admitted to countless flings and affairs. He said that he regularly cheated on his first wife, and even confessed to a one-night stand with his Corrie co-star Pat Phoenix, who played Elsie Tanner.
The revelations were made in a TV interview with Piers Morgan, due to be screened next month.
The randy senior citizen provided a moral to the story – “what I did find out is it does not bring you happiness and it is not the way to be,” he said.
“I had the opportunity, I indulged it and I can tell you this: It’s not worth it.
“To love somebody and to make love to somebody that you love is the most beautiful thing in the world.”
Roache sued The Sun newspaper for branding him boring in 1991. But in light of these rather detailed claims, we think we might prefer the soon-to-be-octogenarian dull.
