It’s Aintree Ladies Day today as thousands of uber-glam women hit the Grand National for a bet on the horses and a chance to flaunt their fake tan.

Ladies’ Day at the 164th John Smith’s Grand National is likely to see a good turn-out from WAGs like Coleen Rooney, who may need some distraction from her husband Wayne’s two-match ban and general disgrace.

The event is a highlight of north west England’s social calendar and is known for the hilariously off-target outfits of some of its attendees, who compete to be entered into the Style 2011 competition.

This year, high priestess of Aintree, Coleen Rooney, will be judging the best dressed competition.
