The Ajax fan jumped the barriers and raced across the pitch towards Alvarado and attempted to kick him, but did not bank on the Costa Rican keeper’s reaction speed.
Alvarado promptly turned around, tripped him up and then kicked him to the ground. He received a red card for his troubles though, outraging his teammates and coach Gertjan Verbeek who ordered his team off the pitch in protest.
