At least she didn’t court journos in return for positive music press like hubby Russell Crowe did.
But there’s still the whiff of riding on the back of celebrity about this highly publicised LP.
So how does it stack up on its own terms?
Well, as you’d expect from a Tony Visconti helmed project Calling All Magicians is suitably lush and dramatic.
But strip away the effects and the songs are left wanting. And they certainly aren’t helped by Spencer’s talky vocals.
