As drummer Le Rigby lay dying in the street after he was attacked by terrorists Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, 20-year old Gemini Donnelly-Martin and her mother Amanda stepped up the knife-wielding maniacs and asked if they could be by his side.
“We just wanted to take care of the man. It wasn’t brave,” Gemini told the Daily Mirror newspaper.
The two stayed by his side as the terrorist assailants said that women were allowed through.Shocked members of the public looked on and the police waited for an armed respose unit to arrive as the two men stood in the street armed with knives and a meat cleaver.
“Anyone would have done it, it had to be done,” Gemini added of her and her mother’s actions on Wednesday.
Her mother Amanda has chosen not to speak of the incident.
