Morning session

Jackson Bird wrapped up the England innings knocking over Jimmy Anderson’s stumps without a run being added.
England all out 238. Lyon 4-42, Bird 2-58, Harris 2-70.

Stuart Broad show commenced early – David Warner and then Usman Khawaja gone. DRS controversy with Rogers, given out caught behind when it hit his pad and almost LBW. Then a rare brain snap for Michael Clarke flashing one off the edge to Cook at slip.

Aus 3-73. Rogers 41no, Steve Smith 17no. Broad 3-23.

Afternoon session

Tim Bresnan finds Smith’s edge and drops Shane Watson on 6. Rogers dropped at slip but scratches past 50. Watson then finds 50 for the first time in the series as the former opening pairing steadied the ship.

Aus 4-184. Rogers 71no, Watson 38no. Broad 3-41.

Evening session

Australia press home advantage and cruise past 200. In control, a Watson leg glance is brilliantly caught by Matt Prior. Shock horror, no review. It’s the only wicket

of the session as Rogers reaches his debut Test hundred. Bad light stops play.

Aus 5-222. Rogers 101no, Watson 68. Broad 4-48.
