Morning session
Chris Rogers resumed on 101no with Brad Haddin, who was first to go LBW (absurdly reviewed) to Graeme Swann. The Aussies capitulated after that either side of a rearguard action from Ryan Harris. Rogers went to a cracking catch from Matt Prior.

Joe Root copped a gem from Harris and was bowled before lunch.
Eng 1-17. Alastair Cook 15no, Trott 2no
Afternoon session
A Trott boundary gave England the lead before Cook chased a wide one and Trott gloved a Harris bouncer. England were 3 down for under 50 again. Good partnership from Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bell brings them back into the game.
Eng 3-123. Bell 37no, Pietersen 37no
Evening session
Ian Bell racks up another half-century as he and KP stretch England’s lead past 100. Pietersen was struggling with Lyon, Haddin missing a tough stumping chance before KP got a leading edge which lobbed to Rogers. Jonny Bairstow started with moments of confidence, before the umpires suspended play for bad light. They were back out within 10 minutes. Lyon snagged Bairstow, but it didn’t slow down Bell, who picked up another century.
Eng 5-234. Bell 105no, Pietersen 44. Harris 3-74
