Michael Clarke won the toss and batted. David Warner goes early before England hand out caps like lollies to Chris Woakes and Simon Kerrigan, and Shane Watson proceeded to smash them around. Watson gets 50 in 61, including 18 off one Kerrigan over.

Graeme Swann claims Rogers soon after lunch before Broad decides knocking Watson over could be more effective. Michael Clarke doesn’t last long, getting a massive inside edge onto his pad that somehow found the stumps off Anderson. Watson takes 114 balls to get his third Test ton. Then h’s dropped by Alastair Cook.

Steve Smith gets in on the fun as Watson kicks on, reaching 150 in style. Smith finds his second 50 of the series. Watson survives an LBW dismissal after getting his first review in 10 right. He adds only 10 more runs.
