Previously known at the Tri Nations, The Rugby Championship comes to Twickenham on October 8th. The match will be the final game of the 2016 tournament, so both sides could be fighting for glory when they head for the UK and the Pumas will be out for revenge as they aim to topple the Wallabies, the current Rugby Championship title holders.
Both sides will be bristling with rugby talent with the likes of Israel Folau, Bernard Foley, David Pocock and Michael Hooper taking on Juan Martin Hernandez, Santiago Cordero, Agustin Creevy and Leonardo Senatore in what promises to be a high octane affair with both sides playing a fast expansive game.
Pumas scrum-half Tomas Cubelli says “The style of play was something we had been working on and we reached our potential with it in the World Cup. But I think we can add more things to our game now as a team and as individual players. We know each other well, spend time together and now the Jaguares have started to play in Super Rugby that helps as well but we still have a long way to go.
“We learned a lot from that game [against Australia]. The good thing is that we went out with a lot of conviction and played the semi final in the same style and tried to attack without hesitating. The one big lesson for the team was that we have to add some balance.”
“Twickenham will be an unforgettable game that will be memorable for everyone,” said Cubelli. “It’s a special field for anyone who plays rugby. For two nations who aren’t England playing at Twickenham it’s an exciting thing to be involved in.”
The Rugby Championship kicks off against South Africa on August 20th.
