Strangely at a time when the likes of the record breaking Fifty Shades of Grey and other baudy ebooks, Cooper thinks that “women don’t want to have sex any more” – although she’s pleased that sexy books are making a big comeback.
“Doctors’ waiting rooms are absolutely brimming these days with women suffering from low libidos. Ours is now a terribly under-sexed society. I have talked to a lot of young women about this and they just don’t seem to do it any more. Honestly. I suppose it’s because we all have so many other demands on our time now.” she told the Daily Telegraph.
The author of spicy romances is jumping back in the saddle with another book about the kinky sex lives of jockeys and is “really working hard to get more sex into it than usual”. Good to hear, Jilly. Keep hard at it.
Cooper was awarded an OBE in 2004 for services to British literature.
