Beth Nielsen Chapman (BNC)
Chapman is one of those Nashville singer-songwriters whose earnest sincerity and well-practised professionalism don’t always fare well on these cynical shores.
Six of the 11 tracks on Back To Love have ‘love’ in the title; the others have names such as Happiness, Shadows and Peace.
It’s a relief then, to find Chapman’s melodies stick a bit better than her occasionally cornball lyrics; the fluidity of Even As It All Goes By is the most memorable example.
