According to one pensioner in the US, the secret to her 105-year landmark ago is little strips of pig meat.

“I love bacon, I could eat it for every meal, and I do!” centenarian Pearl Cantrell told US TV network KRBC earlier this month.

The little lady, who lives in the small town of Richmond Springs in Texas, puts her passing of the century milestone down to her diet of bacon and encouraged others to follow suit, adopt bacon as a regular foodstuff as well and revel in their new found long lives.

And to mark her love of bacon, she got a ride in what was known as a ‘Weinermobile’ [god bless the States] by meat and cold cut company Oscar Meyer, who also sent her along a load of bacon, too, of course.

The little granny was dead chuffed as you can well imagine.
