Matt Smith has been nominated for a Bafta for his part in Doctor Who, leading the way in the television awards along with EastEnders star Jessie Wallace who has a nod for her part in The Road To Coronation Street.
The Baftas – or Philips British Academy Television Awards as they are officially known – take place on Sunday May 22 at London’s Grosvenor House.
Doctor Who’s Matt Smith has been nominated for Best Actor and will be in competition with Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent.
Also nominated for Baftas are Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch and Eric And Ernie actor Daniel Rigby.
Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat Slater in Eastenders, has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Bafta for her role in docudrama, The Road To Coronation Street.
Channel 4 teen drama Misfits has been nominated for four Baftas including nods for its stars Robert Sheehan and Lauren Socha for supporting actor and actress.
Sherlock, Any Human Heart and The Road To Coronation Street have three nominations each.
