A woman battled a bear with a courgette after it attacked her dog in a garden in Montana, USA.
Yup, a courgette.
The black bear was eating apples off the woman’s tree when she came outside with her dogs just after midnight.
Police told the Associated Press that as the woman retreated indoors, the bear attacked her 12-year-old collie.
Before she knew what was happening, the bear was on top of the dog and battling the collie, Lt Maricelli said.
“She kicked the bear with her left leg as hard as she could,” he continued.
As she kicked, the animal swiped at her leg with its paw and ripped her jeans.
When the bear followed her into the house, the woman grabbed a handy courgette that was lying nearby and threw it at the animal’s head.
The bear was frightened off and both the woman and her dog were uninjured.
