Beer is so good for you it’ll save you going jogging, it was claimed at the Great British Beer Festival this week.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), organisers of the giant annual Earls Court beer fest, said beer had fewer calories than wine, and switching bevvies could save as many calories as you burn in a half-hour jog.

More than 350,000 are expected to be served to more than 60,000 punters up at Earls Court exhibition centre in what is temporarily the biggest pub in the world.
