Hungry Donkey is a Greek Restaurant owned by ex-City trader Markos Tsimikalis who, with his brother, offer dishes inspired by their mother’s cooking, located near Liverpool Street (my stomachs rumbling already).
The menu is modern, authentic and of course delicious and veggies and vegans are also looked after really well. Provenance is key to the quality of this really reasonably priced restaurant, in fact there’s even a webpage of where the ingredients are sourced from.
The food is thoroughly authentic and on the 26th January (Tuesday) they are hosting a Beer Pairing event with drinks expert Tom Harrow from, amongst other sites, Honest Grapes & Wine Chap (he’s also written for the FT).
Tickets are £40 per person + booking fee (total £43.39) and you can book in groups for a private tasting. It sure does look like a lot of fun.
