And while it’s by no means a bad record, Beware may be one of them.
He’s backed by a larger band than on some of his previous records; on the workaday likes of I Am Goodbye it doesn’t do him any favours.
However, My Life’s Work and Heart’s Arms are more impressive, welcome reminders of Oldham at his compelling best. WILL FULFORD-JONES
