Teenage travellers are desperate to appear on Big Fat Gypsy Weddings after ratings for the Channel 4 show went through the roof.
Big Fat Gypsy Weddings reached a series peak of 7.48million viewers in its penultimate week, eclipsing coverage of the Brit Awards with its final episode.
Now travellers hoping to find fame with the show are inundating Channel 4 with requests to star in the next series, despite claims that their community was shown in a bad light.
A gypsy source told The Sun: “It has been a huge topic of conversation and everyone wants to be on it.

“The girls and boys who have been on it have gained notoriety within their community – a bit like being a local celebrity.”
Big Fat Gypsy Weddings ended last week and A Big Fat Gypsy Christmas has already been filmed. However, spin-off shows about traveller life are being planned for next year.
Although teenage travellers are apparently keen to appear on the show, not everyone was happy with how their community was portrayed.
Cheyenne, 15, told The Sun: “We wouldn’t do it again, you get too much aggro.
“It’s not accurate at all. Even our own community said we’re making ourselves look like idiots.”
