The advert has now been banned from the air, with the Advertising Standards Authority saying it was ‘socially irresponsible.’
Cycling Scotland responded by saying that wearing a helmet was up to the individual and added that one possible outcome of wearing a protective hat could be ‘influencing a driver’s behaviour to be less careful when interacting on the road.’
Hmm, we’re not sure we buy that. We’ll keep our helmets on for now.
