Absinthe Lollies
You’ll be like a kid in a candy store at Putney’s new personality-packed bar The Toy Shop – quite literally. Absinthe wine gums, alcoholic ice cubes that have been sculpted to resemble Lego men, goat’s cheese lollipops … are you spotting a theme? It’s like a big playground for adults. Yipee, etc.
Foodie Festivities
Foodies: assemble! The fourth edition of gourmet get-together Feast is cooking up a treat on July 4-7 in Brick Lane Yard, near Spitalfields Market. As well as serving up masses of munchies from some of London’s most exciting food traders, there’ll be coconut shies, a mini croquet lawn and a prosecco bar to keep you entertained.
Stalls will feature food from the likes of Flat Iron (serving grass-fed wagyu shortrib beef from NZ), corndogs from New York-style deli Mishkin’s and booze-infused sweets from Meringue Girls. Tickets are £9 and selling fast.
Drink what you sow
”Ever-changing orgy of drinking, dining and weird culture” pop-up Kitchen Party is putting on a masterclass in mixing cocktails with homegrown ingredients, such as mint or even fennel.
A two-hour interactive workshop, you’ll be asked to bring along an ingredient you can grow yourself and will see how to blend it expertly with booze. Students will also get a chance to make their own concoctions and there’ll be plenty of tasting going on. Tickets £30, until July 6, near Farringdon.
