Athlete (Fiction)
The formula is familiar, both from Athlete’s own records and those made by the competition; Coldplay, most obviously, but also the slew of anonymous American bands who reach the mainsteam via the soundtrack of Grey’s Anatomy.
Black Swan is a lot like the last three Athlete albums: immaculately crafted, passionately sung, packed with lighters-in-the-air choruses, and about as thrilling as dry toast.
