Capcom UK, a PR company who were promoting the Resident Evil video game franchise, have cancelled a zombie-themed promotional stunt which was scheduled to take place over the weekend in east London, just miles from the scene of the killing in Woolwich.

The company had planned to fill an open air swimming pool in London with fake blood and human body parts to promote the release of the latest game, Resident Evil Revelations.

However, they say the zombie stunt, which is of questionable taste anyway, has now been called off following the bloody machete attack on a Lee Rigby, a member of Britain’s armed forces.

“In light of yesterday’s sad events we’re cancelling our Revelations pool event. Thank you for your understanding,” a statement from Resident Evil bosses reads.
