Just in case you’ve been living on Mars (or maybe somewhere other than Australia) for the past few years, Bluesfest runs for five days each Easter just outside Byron Bay – the perfect place for this chilled-out hippy heaven.

Acts for this year’s festival include The Black Keys, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Paolo Nutini, David Gray and, well, they reckon about another 200 performances.

It’s on from Thursday, April 2 to Monday, 6 April but  if you’re thinking off going better book soon.

Festival director Peter Noble says it’s now way past 90% sold out although camping is still available for Thursday, Sunday and Monday and “there are still plenty of beautiful camping and accommodation option available close to the Festival,” he reckons.

Noble waxes on, “I can’t help but catch the energy – it is something that energises me, and makes me want to be a part of Bluesfest forever. This is going to be one of our great years.

The festivalis also boasting the launch of a new App that will be ready for download on Monday (23 March) for $1.99. Features will include the daily playing schedule, festival map, artist bios and so on.
