The Vodacom Blue Bulls will have to wait a little longer before they will know whether Springboks such as Bryan Habana, Danie Rossouw and Gurthrö Steenkamp will be able to play against the Free State Cheetahs in a Absa Currie Cup rugby match in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Habana and Rossouw were not eligible for Friday’s match against the Boland Cavaliers due to niggling injuries, while Steenkamp suffered a hand injury in this encounter.

Habana’s knee and shoulder is not 100 per cent whilst Rossouw has a problem with his heel and he is also nursing a hand injury.

Coach Frans Ludeke said Monday morning he will know only later in the week which of the players will be available, but said they are all making steady progress with their rehabilitation.

Other good news is that Wynand Olivier as well as Deon Stegmann will again be in the mix for Saturday’s clash against the Cheetahs and if Habana, Rossouw and Steenkamp can recover in time it means that Ludeke can call on a full strength squad for the match in Bloemfontein.

The Blue Bulls play the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday, followed by a trip to Kimberley and in the last round before the semi-finals, they will play the Valke at Loftus Versfeld.

The Sharks, who are also in the run to finish top of the log, play the Valke in Kempton Park on Saturday, then they take on the Lions in Johannesburg followed by a clash with the Griquas in Durban.
