Springbok rugby scrumhalf Ricky Januarie will be tying the knot over the weekend and will miss out on the mud bath at Wellington on Saturday.
His fellow Springbok, Bolla Conradie, has been named in the Western Province Absa Currie Cup team to face Boland at Wellington where the pitch has been reduced to a quagmire after heavy rains over the past few weeks.
Januarie has been hogging the headlines in recent times after he was hauled before the court on a drunken driving charge.
He was arrested on the night he celebrated his bachelor’s party.
Apart from losing his inform halfback Januarie, WP coach Allister Coetzee will also be without reliable workhorse Adriaan Fondse.
The lock is nursing a rib injury. Fondse’s place will be taken by veteran AJ Venter who could prove a valuable asset in a match where there will be no chance to play expansive rugby.
