The Kinks’ frontman Ray Davies has been responsible for some of the most indelible pop evocations of British life so as curator of this year’s Meltdown festival it’s unsurprising he’s put together a bill which cover all aspects of “Britain … mad, serious, artistic, creative, the whole spectrum.” The eclectic lineup includes Madness (Jun 17), a chat with Glasto creator Michael Eavis (Jun 13) as well as US indie heros Yo La Tengo (June 12) and New York poet/performer Lydia Lunch (Jun 18). Davies himself will kick off proceedings on Friday June 10.
