As is often the case when an artist’s career drags on beyond double digits, Snoop Dogg is a long way from the genre-defining gangsta rap he helped to create with his 1993 debut album Doggystyle. His 11th and most recent album Doggumentary, supposedly a sequel to Doggystyle, is a ridiculously long and bloated affair but still contains enough of Calvin Broadus’s signature humour and some inspired collaborations to carry it through. With his loping stage presence, arsenal of hits and his chilled West Coast drawl-delivery Snoop knows how to put on a show and will deliver.
