Wigan Warriors bring a Super League game to London on Saturday 5 September when they face Catalans Dragons at The Den, 3pm kick-off.

The former North Queensland Cowboy star admits he is excited ahead of the game: “I’ve not had many chances to go to London so far whilst I’ve been here so I’m really excited to get down there and play this game.” He said.

“There’s a large Australian and Kiwi population in London and it’d be great for them to come out and watch the game. London doesn’t have a Super League team at the moment so I think it’s great that we are able to take this game down and showcase the sport.”

The Warriors face the Dragons in a crucial game with Wigan looking to keep up their pursuit of Leeds at the top of Super League.

On the French outfit, Bowen said: “They’re a big side and a real handful, they managed to get the better of us last time we met over in France and have beaten some good sides this year so we’re going to have to be at our best.”

With former New South Wales half-back Todd Carney in the Dragons line-up alongside other former NRL stars including Krisnan Inu and Jeff Lima, Bowen knows all too well the strength of the opposition.

“They’ve got a talented group of players over there that’s for sure.” Bowen said.

“Todd Carney is one of the best halves in the game when he’s on, they’ve also got Zeb Taia who has been one of the form players of Super League this year and is heading back to play for the Titans in 2016. Alongside him in the pack they’ve also got Elliott Whitehead who will be at the Raiders next year, not forgetting Krisnan Inu and Jeff Lima who have both got a lot of NRL experience.

“On paper they’re a great team and when they put it together they can play. It should be a great game and we’re excited to get down there now.”

Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster starting for £20 adults and £10 juniors.
