Brixton tube station evacuated following fire alert while Brian Paddick campaigns nearby

Twitter users reported seeing smoke coming from the tunnel although eye witnesses say they do not believe it was coming from a train.

Five fire engines are at the scene and the Victoria Line is suspended between Brixton and Victoria.

TfL’s website says there has been a fire alert but do not go into further detail regarding the incident.

Passengers are being advised that their tickets will be accepted on London buses and Southeastern trains.
