We admire the guts of some companies in these tough economic and political times – Qatar Airways has launched scheduled flights to the Libyan port city of Benghazi.
Flying four times a week from Qatar’s capital of Doha, the ambitious airline billed Benghazi as “a leading economic centre, ideally located on the Mediterranean”.
The airline also said the city would benefit from Qatar Airways’ “connecting points across the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific”. It added that it hoped to resume services to Tripoli in due course.
