The Italians gave us pizza and the Turks (and others) gave us kebabs. Now, Jews take a bow – check out the bagels at this 24-hour East End institution.
Beigel Bake never shuts, instead dishing out a steady stream of fresh bread and bagels at all hours. You haven’t had a big night in Shoreditch until you’ve joined the glassy-eyed queue for a baked treat to soak up the booze.
It’s a tiny little hole in the wall, but it oozes charisma and has stood the test of time.
The bagels are the highlight – and what keep the hordes coming back– and have a variety of fillings (the salt beef and mustard is recommended, while the smoked salmon and cream cheese is also a goer).
At £3.30 each, this is a place you’ll return to. In fact, you’ll make the trip out to the East End just so your night ends with a doughy treat.
