My job involves… everything! I get involved in all aspects of the business from strategy, marketing, product development, meeting with clients to packing orders. It varies from day to day, but generally a little bit of everything.
I got my job by… pursuing my dreams. My passion for gemstones started when I was searching for an engagement ring for my now wife. I started to educate myself in the field of gemmology and realised I had a passion for gemstones and diamonds. The business was started in my spare time, as a hobby, whilst I worked as a business consultant. It was only in 2012 that I launched Diamond Boutique online.
The most rewarding part of my job is… helping others find their perfect engagement ring. I love working with our clients to ensure that they get the perfect ring. My view is that everyone deserves to have the best they can for their budget.
The most challenging part of my job is… being known. The biggest challenge has been associated with building the Diamond Boutique brand. We don’t want to be known as another “diamond company”, and I truly believe we have created a brand known for high-grade gemstone jewellery.
My advice to anyone who wants a job like mine is… believe. Work hard, love what you do and never give up.
