Jenna Krehbiel got up from her seat during a circus performance in the US state of Kansas and headed to the bathroom, like she had done in various theatres, bars and restaurants no doubt countless times before, only this experience was to prove a little bit different.
Krehbiel claims that when she opened the door and walked into the bathroom she came face to face with a real, fully grown, potentially deadly tiger who had apparently escaped during the show.
Circus officials have been quick to play the incident down, saying it was only a “small bathroom issue” according to AAP.
They also say that once it became obvious that the tiger had escaped security personel quickly barricaded the dangerous animal in the bathroom.
Only somebody forgot to tell that to Jenna Krehbiel.
The circus manager said that it “likely” Mrs Krehbiel had seen the tiger because the bathroom is “only 25 feet (7.6 metres) long,” and thus not very big.
Mrs Krehbiel how ever told a local newspaper that she handled the situation calmly.
“I turned around calmly and walked back toward the door. Someone opened the door and said `get out’,” she said.
If that had been me I probably would have shit my pants, although come to think of it, that’s probably the most appropriate place for it.
