In a bid to recapture a glory only found by happy accident, the two remaining original members of pioneering glam-punk quintet the New York Dolls have engaged the services of original producer Todd Rundgren, even re-recording a song from their debut for good measure. Desperation permeates every second; the cliché-packed, spark-free and note-by-note-rotten results would shame the weakest bar bands. You won’t hear worse in 09.
