Only wines produced in the region of Champagne can use the C-word on their product. There’s no better place to find out what all the fuss is about with champagne and develop a taste for the stuff than in the region that gave birth to it, and there are no shortage of places to try it. By the way, anything labelled ‘California champagne’ is not really champagne – it’s the American version of sparkling wine.
